„Der Zipferlake“ ist der deutschen Titel des Gedichts „Jabberwocky“ von Alice Lewis Caroll aus „Alice hinter den Spiegeln
Im Original lautet das Gedicht:
Jaberwocky
Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

Lewis Carroll nicht nur ein herausragender britischer Schriftsteller des viktorianischen Zeitalters sondern auch Fotograf, Mathematiker und Diakon. Geboren wurde er am 27. Januar 1832, Daresbury, gestorben ist er am 14. Januar 1898 in Guildford (beides Vereinigtes Königreich). Alice im Wunderland ist sein bekanntestes Buch, es erschien erstmals am 4. Juli 1865.
